Kampong Chicken Eating House is a small restaurant in Outram known for its unique yellow-skinned chicken rice. Kampong chickens are free-range, raised in villages without special feed, which makes them leaner and more muscular with darker meat. The yellow skin comes from boiling the chicken in water with yellow ginger, not sun exposure. Besides chicken, the restaurant also serves dishes like cold crabs, chicken ngoh hiang, and traditional zhi char. ...

Great option for a quick and satisfying lunch! Their chicken rice is phenomenal – the “kampong chicken” is juicy and flavorful (even if a little less meaty than usual), and the rice is fragrant. The portion sizes are decent for the price, making it a great value. The service was friendly and efficient, perfect for a casual meal. Definitely recommend trying their chicken rice if you’re in the area

Pretty good place to try if you like the kampong chicken variant but it can be a dice roll and you can get a plate of bones lol. Good choice of other favourite local dishes like sambal kangkong ngoh hiang and the sorts.
