Good chicken rice. In my opinion, Ming Kee is one of the better chicken rice stalls in sg. The rice is aromatic and just nice oily, while the chicken strikes a balance between tender and satisfyingly chewy. Their sauces are good too!
The Hokkien Mee here blew me away. It was super tasty, though I think it could dial back on the salt and oil a bit. I also sampled some of the prawn noodle soup, and wow, the broth was packed with flavor. Not sure what these guys add into the food but its packin some punches!
Chinese style nasi lemak loses the “nasi lemak” essence if you add too much other stuff. It’ll become more like chap cai peng. Regardless, I have to admit, overall tastes good.
Fantastic nasi lemak. The drumstick is huge! The ingredients are generous and everything on the plate is spot-on. The place is tiny, so it can get pretty crowded during peak timing.
I swung by just past 1pm recently, lucked out with no queue, office crowd had left, but they were almost out of everything. Good thing they still had a couple of Ayam Berempah. And wow, what a great choice! The chicken skin was perfectly crispy and delicious, while the meat was incredibly tender. The sambal was on point too, although I prefer it spicier than the usual sweet style for nasi lemak. it’s worth every penny!
Halal Chicken Rice done right!
