The laksa portion was just right for me – not too much, not too little. The gravy itself was noticeably thicker compared to other laksas I’ve had. the version I ordered didn’t come with bean sprouts and cockles (see hum), It wasn’t a bad thing, just a different take on the classic dish. The ambience at the restaurant seems nice, but beware of the lunchtime crowd noise. It can get a bit loud if you’re looking for a super peaceful meal.
Unlike traditional Cantonese porridge, where the rice is cooked to a smooth paste, this one retained a slightly firmer texture, similar to Teochew porridge but even softer. The flavor was fantastic! Drizzled with sesame oil and soy sauce, and then sprinkled with chopped spring onions. Shiok!!
The chicken at Wee Nam Kee was a bit dry and bland for my taste.However, the fragrant rice was absolutely delicious! Can try but won’t come here particularly for chicken rice,
