  • long wait times, especially on weekends. Consider making a reservation or going during off-peak hours.

  • Chin Huat damn good for chilli crab sia! Their sauce is the real deal – sweet, spicy, and enough to make you order extra mantou to soak it all up and wallop you with flavour! Crabs are always fresh and super juicy, can scrape every last bit of meat out.

  • Chin Huat Seafood definitely lived up to its reputation! We came with a reservation (recommended!), and the staff was incredibly helpful throughout the meal.

We opted for a live lobster and a crab, letting the waiter guide us on the best cooking methods. They weren’t pushy at all, but I couldn’t resist adding the fried cai poh kway teow – a craving from my last visit here.

The star of the show was definitely the steamed lobster with garlic sauce. The freshness was undeniable – straight from the tank and cooked to perfection! The staff even helped us deshell it, ensuring we enjoyed every bit of the delicious meat.

The black pepper crab didn’t disappoint either – simply delicious and bursting with flavor. And of course, no trip to Chin Huat is complete without their signature chili crab. The sauce was incredible, perfect for dipping those fluffy mantou buns.

  • Chin Huat Live Seafood: Our family’s go-to for celebrations! Always fresh, delicious seafood – especially the live crabs! Friendly staff and a fun atmosphere make it perfect for gatherings.

  • Having frequented this establishment on numerous occasions, I can confidently say they present one of the finest chili crabs in Singapore. Their presence on the west side of the island is a welcome respite, eliminating the need for a trek eastward to indulge in exceptional seafood.

My usual order, and a must-try for any guest, is their signature chili crab. It consistently delivers an unparalleled level of satisfaction. The crab meat boasts a delightful depth of flavor, perfectly complemented by the fluffy mantou buns. The true star, however, is the sauce – so incredibly flavorful, it’s tempting to drink it straight from the shell.

Another personal favorite is the silver hor fun. This dish is a testament to their culinary expertise. The wok-fried hor fun achieves a perfect balance of crispness and chewiness, while the inclusion of fresh prawns, scallops, and clams elevates the taste profile. The rich and savory gravy boasts a wonderful umami character, leaving a lingering satisfaction on the palate. The contrasting texture of the crispy kway teow pieces adds a delightful textural element.

Overall, this restaurant stands out as a haven for seafood enthusiasts seeking top-quality cuisine and a delightful dining experience.
