  • Not bad, but it used to be better during the Covid days.

  • Dickson Nasi Lemak is primarily a takeaway stall. However, don’t let that deter you! The flavors are more than worth finding a spot to enjoy your meal, or simply take it to go and enjoy it elsewhere. It’s a great option to experience a taste of Malaysia in Singapore.

  • The rice was fragrant and the fried chicken was perfectly crispy – a great start! However, the sambal could have used more spices and lemongrass for depth of flavor. It was also a bit oily, and a thicker consistency would have been ideal.

Overall, a bit of a mixed bag. The potential is there, but some adjustments could elevate the dish significantly.

  • Dickson Nasi Lemak lives up to the buzz. Their fragrant rice is delicious, and the star of the show is definitely the chicken. I went for the ayam goreng berempah – crispy, flavorful, and juicy! The sambal is next level – spicy with a complex depth of flavor. Be warned, it packs a punch!🥊

  • Dickson Nasi Lemak is amazing!!! The fragrant coconut rice is cooked perfectly, and the star of the show is definitely the ayam goreng berempah. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavour. Their sambal is incredible – spicy, complex, and addictive.

  • Overhyped nasi lemak? nope. It’s near perfect if eaten on the spot. The Joo Chiat outlet only does takeaway though so if you want the best experience. Buy it and eat it outside the shop.

  • Visited Dickson nasi lemak Joo Chiat on a lazy weekday. no queue thank god. I ordered the ayam goreng berempah because everyone says it’s the best nasi lemak in Singapore. Was it really the best? no idea but It’s was really good.

  • Very good rice, very good chicken, very good sambal, very good ikan bilis. =) Dickson 5/5

  • This stall serves up phenomenal nasi lemak! The Ayam Goreng Berempah is incredibly flavorful, and the portion size is perfect. The coconut rice itself is a star – fluffy, fragrant, and bursting with coconutty goodness. Bonus points for their daily specials that keep things exciting!

  • Heads up, it’s takeaway only for now! This Joo Chiat shop, opened by the owner of Champion Bolo Bun, serves up some seriously delicious nasi lemak. While you’ll currently need to brave the queue (it can get hot!), good news for future visits – they’re planning to offer dine-in options soon!

I opted for the boneless chicken thighs Berempah, and it was fantastic. The coconut rice was fragrant and flavorful, but the real star was the chicken. Perfectly fried with a crispy, spiced exterior and juicy on the inside – delicious! Just a warning, the chili packs a punch, so go easy if you’re not a spice fan.

  • Dickson Nasi Lemak: Worth the Wait (Finally Grabbed It!)

After hearing great things about Dickson Nasi Lemak, I was always bummed to find it sold out whenever I visited. But today, luck was on my side as I managed to snag an order on Grab!

    Let’s dive into the flavors:
Rice: The rice had a soft, warm, and fluffy texture. The coconut flavor was present but balanced, avoiding the overpowering fragrance found in some “atas” (high-end) nasi lemak. This allowed for a more enjoyable complete meal.

Chicken Thighs: The boneless chicken thighs were a highlight. They were incredibly tender and juicy, with a satisfyingly crispy coating. Each bite offered a burst of flavor, and the meat itself had a pleasant “bouncy” texture. I would have loved even more of the crispy bits!

Overall, my first experience with Dickson Nasi Lemak lived up to the hype! The balanced flavors and perfectly cooked chicken made for a delicious and satisfying meal. I can see why it sells out so quickly.

  • Without a doubt, Dickson is one of Singapore’s top contenders for Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah. Imagine a delightful drumstick of crispy fried chicken paired with fragrant coconut rice, a perfectly fried egg, and their signature sambal chilli blend. For those who crave heat, don’t miss out on extra sambal—it’s a game-changer. Add as much extras as you can because that will decide whether you have a SUPER SHIOK or norm SHIOK meal.

While it leans towards the pricey side, the quality and harmony of flavours justify the indulgence. Consider it a sinful treat well worth savoring.

  • “Stumbled” upon Dickson Nasi Lemak earlier this year. I read about them somewhere so thought might as well try it out. The rice smells great, but the real star is the ayam berempah. Crispy outside, juicy inside. And their chili? Whew, it’s spicy! Worth a try.

  • Damn good! 5/5. Live around the area and Dickson is undoubtedly one of the best. Both rice and chicken. Will try their other locations if I pass by. Would 100% prefer to dine in.

  • Really good Nasi Lemak. Rice tasted nice with coconut and smelled good too. Spicy sauce was tasty, though a bit sweet. Chicken was amazing, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Better than Coconut Club and cheaper too. The guy at the counter was nice. Takeout only.

  • This is damn good nasi lemak 😀 you can go around Singapore all you want but only a handful can compare. up!

  • My favourite no frills nasi lemak. Visited the joo chiat out which was takeaway only. Rice and chicken are undoubtedly top 3 and the chilli gives a real good kick. 10/10 will visit again.
