Fans mourned in 2021 when Foong Kee, a beloved Keong Saik institution known for its charcoal-roasted meats, announced its closure. But wait! After a year-long hiatus, chef-owner Derrick Wong is back! He’s returned with a hawker stall at Commonwealth Crescent Market & Food Centre, where he’s once again serving up his legendary roast duck, roast pork, and char siew – all perfected over two decades. Owners old liao, can only do so much. So queue early cos they sold out by 1pm usually.

Be prepared to wait in line, but it’s worth it for the delicious roast meats. The char siew is fantastic, but the siew yoke is equally good.

The char siew was a bit lacking in the char department. It was still flavorful, but I prefer a bit more caramelization and smokiness. The rice was a bit bland too.

The use of charcoal roasting adds a unique smokiness, and the caramelization is perfect. The meat is incredibly tender and juicy. However, be prepared to wait! This stall is popular, and the queue can get long, especially during peak hours.

Be prepared to wait in line, but it’s worth it for the delicious roast meats. The char siew is fantastic, but the siew yoke (roast pork belly) is equally good. Crispy skin, melt-in-your-mouth fat, and flavorful meat

The queue for this stall was long at lunchtime, but the wait was well worth it! After 30 minutes, I finally secured a plate of their delicious roasted duck and char siew.
Apparently, this charming couple behind the stall roasts everything in limited quantities. I overheard them tell the queue that only a few portions remained! So, get there early if you have your heart set on their melt-in-your-mouth meats.

Be prepared for a wait! This stall offers delicious roasted meats, but be aware they can get quite popular during peak hours and sell out quickly. The roasted duck is a standout – crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat. The char siew is on the sweeter side, while the roast pork is well-executed. The smoky charcoal aroma truly sets the scene. If you manage to snag a plate, it’s definitely worth the wait!

This stall is always busy, expect a line for 10-20 minutes at lunch or dinner. But trust me, the wait is nothing compared to the deliciousness! I got the trio combo with all the meats: duck, roast pork, and char siew. The roasted meats was cooked to perfection over charcoal, super tender and juicy. The duck skin was slightly crisp but not greasy, and the roast pork had that amazing crackling sound when you bite into it. My absolute favorite was the char siew.
