The food here is great and reasonably priced, with lots of variety. It’s not too spicy but really delicious. We came for breakfast and had Nasi Lemak, Lontong, and some cakes. Loved it all. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The staff was nice and helpful too.
What I really like is how fresh everything is. Even the sauce for their popular tahu-telur is made daily. Here’s a tip: they start making the sauce right before the first batch of fried tahu-telur leaves the kitchen. So, if you want to get yours, come just before 1 pm when the first batch hits the shelves. I tried to order one and had to wait a bit because the sauce wasn’t ready yet. This happened a few times, so I know it’s true.
Another tip: if there’s a big crowd, start deciding what dishes you want while you’re in line. Don’t just stand there—you’ve got to be quick and decisive when it’s your turn to order. It can get chaotic.
Overall, the food at HJH Maimunah is worth the wait, as long as you’re not in a hurry. A must-try malay food joint if you’re in Singapore.
