  • prepared for a line during peak lunch hours as this stall is popular.

  • Chicken was moist, but lacked flavor punch I love. More like a quick fix than a flavor explosion.

  • The chicken rice at Ji De Lai is good, but not life-changing. The chicken was a bit dry in some parts, and the rice could have used a touch more flavour. Still, a decent option for a quick and satisfying hawker meal.

  • Pretty decent plate of chicken rice. My chicken are soft and tender but the rice is quite bland.

  • Decent plate of chicken rice. Would prefer if the rice was less on the mushy side. Everything else hits as they should. Not sure if worthy of the bib gourmand but I’ll still give jidelai 4/5.

  • Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken: Good chicken, fast service! Not the most special rice, but friendly staff and tasty chilli sauce make it a decent choice.

  • The chicken rice here is decent. The rice can be a bit inconsistent in terms of fragrance. The chicken itself is good, and their chili sauce is definitely spicy. There might be better options out there, but it’s a quick and easy meal.

  • Chong pang food centre is cramp be warned. I tried the roast chicken and honestly, while good, I felt it could use crisper skin, but the meat is surprisingly juicy flavourful. The chicken rice is slightly greasy but definite fragrant and fluffy. For spice lovers, the deceptively mild-looking chili sauce packs explosive heat. Even the accompanying soup, sweet with soft cabbage and served piping hot, is commendable.

  • Jidelai’s chicken rice is is well-cooked, tasty and can be enjoyed on its own. I tried both the roasted and boiled chicken, the boiled chicken had little skin, but the meat was tender-er. The vegetables were cooked just as I liked it. Good portion sizes at an fair price, and the service is fast. Overall, it’s a decent chicken rice experience.

  • Jidelai uses large chickens, I think the 1.8-2kg variant. Meat is definitely quality. Succulent, juicy and very flavourful. The rice is fragrant and tasty, exactly what makes a great plate of chicken rice. They have another stall at Sinming but I’ve heard quality differs so if you’re in the area, definitely go the Chongpang market one. Is this the best chicken rice in SG? I’m not sure.
