Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice truly meets high expectations and they have a long wait time to show for it. The made to order dish features duck liver sausages, lup cheong, chicken meat chunks, and well-portioned salted fish that enhances the overall flavour. The rice itself is plump and tender on top, with a well-charred, crusty bottom that boasts a smoky essence from the charcoal fire. The cooking process involves bringing the rice to a boil with gas before simmering it over charcoal. While the chicken could be more fragrant and juicy, with a more generous use of rice wine in the marinade, this remains one of the best claypot rice options in Singapore.

Very old school stall. Love the aromatic claypot rice. Order first then come back in 1 hour time cos they got many back orders.

lived up to the buzz! The portion size is generous, and the rice has this amazing smoky aroma from the claypot. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the Chinese sausage adds a savory touch. Pro-tip: call ahead to order your claypot and skip the wait!

Wah lau eh, this claypot rice damn power! As a die-hard lup cheong fan, I had to try it, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Super shiok, but be warned – it comes piping hot!
The best part? Mixing everything together and digging in. Only thing is, the sauce they give a bit on the small side, not enough for someone like me who loves that flavorful punch. But hey, no worries, the chicken was super tender, and the lup cheong and salted fish really kicked up the taste.
The rice itself was a bit dry, but with a nice crispy bottom – perfect for those who love that texture. And the charred bits? Super sinful (but still damn good!).

Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice is a true legend for claypot rice! While the queue can be daunting (around an hour!), it’s a testament to their dedication to slow-cooking each claypot with real charcoal. They don’t use pre-cooked rice here, ensuring a truly authentic and delicious experience.
The wait is rewarded! The resulting claypot rice boasts a beautiful char exterior, and the inclusion of salted fish adds a perfect savory touch.
