The best food at East Coast Lagoon Food Village

East Coast Lagoon Food Village is famous for its killer street food, but don’t expect to find any Michelin stars shining over the stalls here–not yet at least. But hey, great food doesn’t need a star to be delicious, right? Continue on to see our list of the best East Coast Lagoon Food.

Han Jia Bak Kut Teh

Founded in 1963, this spot serves a unique cloudy broth that’s a wild mix of savoury, peppery, garlicky, and sweet flavours. The pork ribs are so tender they practically jump off the bone. The preserved mustard greens add a nice sour kick to the fluffy steamed rice. The real star is the soy-braised pork trotter, which is so tender and flavourful, it’ll make you want to come back for more. Remember to add extra dough fritters (you tiao)

Ah Hwee BBQ Chicken Wings & Spring Chicken 亚辉烧鸡翅

What I like here is the chicken wings, which are exceptionally crispy and flavourful. The chilli sauce could use more spice but the wings themselves are definitely worth a visit.

Song Kee Fried Oyster

What’s great here is the oyster omelette, which gets a golden crisp that’s seriously satisfying. The oysters are plump and juicy, way better than the norm. Just know you might need to queue up, especially if you’re hitting it up on a busy evening—good things come to those who wait!

Cheok Kee Duck Rice 作记鸭饭

Cheok Kee duck rice sauce is so delicious, it might just redefine your expectations for the dish. Come here for a satisfying plate of braised goodness. Usually sells out by mid afternoon.

Haron Satay & Chicken Wing

The satay here is pretty good, with a marinade that’s sweeter and a bit more interesting than your average skewer. This stall’s been around for over 40 years, so they clearly know their stuff. The meat is juicy and grilled just right, crispy on the outside and tender inside. Don’t skip the peanut sauce—it’s the perfect combo of sweet and salty.

Hwa Kee BBQ Pork Noodles

The noodles here have a nice texture and the roast char siew is decent. The Shui Gao (prawn dumplings) are stuffed with a good amount of meat and a whole shrimp, which adds texture and extra flavour. Owners are friendly too!

Lagoon Leng Kee Beef Kway Teow

Come here for a satisfying bowl of beef noodles. Lagoon Leng Kee Beef Kway Teow delivers a broth that’s more delicate than deeply beefy. The flavour profile leans towards the lighter side, with a touch of tang from the salted vegetables.

Leng Heng Chicken Rice 龍興雞飯

The chicken rice is delicious, with fresh tender chicken and very fragrant rice. The chilli stands out as well—not too spicy and has a good kick of ginger.

38 Barbeque Seafood

Stall 38 Barbeque Seafood offers large-sized crabs for around $50, its exceptional value for crabs and ensures you won’t leave hungry. The Chilli crab here is a must-try, with fresh, thick crab meat soaked in a delicious sauce. Their stingray is also noteworthy, tender and flavourful, with a non-chilli option that still impresses. Iqbal Soup Kambing

Iqbal Soup Kambing is relatively new to ECP, this Geylang Serai branch serves tasty mutton soup from 3 pm to 11 pm, closed on Mondays. For $8, you get a big bowl with tender and flavourful ribs. The soup is packed with flavour, and the owners are friendly.

Lagoon Famous Carrot Cake

Lagoon Famous Carrot Cake has been holding it down at East Coast Lagoon for over a decade. The portions are big enough to fill you up, and they throw in some fresh prawns too. The carrot cake is cooked just right—soft with a crispy edge and not too greasy. It’s got a bit of sweetness, some wok hei magic, and those prawns add a nice little crunch.

Stingray Forever BBQ Seafood

This place serves outstanding stingray that is fresh, tender, and with sambal had packs a solid punch. They serve amazing black pepper crab as well.

Choon Hiang Hokkien Mee/Char Kway Teow

Choon Hiang is the spot for old-school charcoal-cooked Hokkien mee and char kway teow. It might not be bursting with intense flavours, but the owners’ generous portions of ingredients and the choice to skip the lard make it a solid choice. This place has been around for ages, and it’s definitely worth a try.

Geylang 29 Charcoal Fried Hokkien Mee

This place serves up a big plate of noodles that’s saucy and smoky. The noodles soak up all that rich stock and get fried over charcoal, so they come out moist but not too wet. You get pork belly, prawns, and squid, all topped with crispy lard bits. Squeeze some lime, mix in their homemade sambal, and you’re in for a treat.

Soon Huat Teochew Satay Beehoon

A decent plate of satay bee hoon. The sauce is medium thick, sweet, and nutty, with big peanut chunks that make it good. Add condiments to make the flavours pop.

Tips on visiting East Coast Lagoon Food Village

  2. Prepare cash –The stores there mostly only accept cash so do bring enough. There are also ATM machines available.
  3. Bring your own napkins/tissue –You will not get any with your meals. However, even if you don’t have your own, most drink stalls at the hawker centre will sell them.

  1. Don’t know what to eat at East Coast Lagoon? Start with the satay, then the BBQ seafood like the sambal stingray. Hokkien Mee is worth a try if you want to try some local flavours.

  2. This place always more fun every visit. Fourth time visit east coast lagoon food village here in two months, lost count. Food stalls quick, clean, and taste like home…if home had 20 different cuisines. Best dish? Maybe the egg with something, or the thing with satay…hard to say. Peanut sauce? Solid. Tables big enough for all the food you pretend you won’t order, but will. Very cozy, unless you hate being outdoors, then maybe less cozy.

  7. Great place. Brought my friends from UK to East Coast Lagoon Food Village. Its not too far from the beach and the wind helps. Must try out BBQ sambal stingray, satay, carrot cake and sugar cane juice if you visit Singapore.

  8. I call this the east coast food court. Carpark is always packed during evening peak hours but in general, tables are easy to get and not that long of a queue for food. Most stalls are generally good. Go for Satay, BBQ stingray, fried Oyster, hokkien mee or even chicken rice + Sugar cane drink.

  9. East Coast Food Village. Great place for a nice cash meal. I’m all about the Ah Hui chicken wings and Hwa Kee BBQ noodles, plus their prawn dumpling soup is killer. Mutton satay was pretty solid too. Love that they separate halal and non-halal stuff, super convenient. Parking is open-air, classic hawker vibes, and there’s tons of food to choose from. Some must-tries are oyster omelette, sambal BBQ stingray, fried oysters, and wanton mee.
