These Handmade Nonya kuehs bring a fun twist to traditional flavours with their fun, pastel look.

One Sweet Bite’s handmade Nonya kuehs mix old-school tastes with a fresh, pastel vibe, giving her kuehs a makeover that’s as tasty as they are pretty.

Calista Lim, the chef and artistic heart behind One Sweet Bite, crafts her kuehs with natural colors like pandan and beetroot, steering clear of preservatives and lard. Her lineup features classic favourites such as Pulut Inti, Kueh Salat, and Ondeh Ondeh, alongside unique creations like Jackfruit Sticky Bites and Tom Yum Chicken Lemper.

Kueh Dar Dar

Kueh Dar Dar $23 for a box of 14. These pandan “crepes” are a real winner. The green wrapping is thin and silky, and inside, there’s a juicy, sweet mix of coconut and gula melaka. They’re tasty, not too big, and super easy to eat. A definite must-try.

Jackfruit Sticky Bites

One Sweet Bite Jackfruit Sticky Bites

Jackfruit Sticky Bites $20 for a box of 10. One of the more popular kuehs, The Jackfruit Sticky Bites are made from Jackfruit that is peeled fresh daily and stuffed with pink sticky chewy rice, then topped with a creamy coconut drizzle and garnished with black sesame.

The sticky rice is sweet and a bit chewy, mingling with the fruity, juicy kick of fresh jackfruit. These were enjoyable, they have a nice balance of sweetness and texture.

Longan Stickies

Giant Udang Lemper with Ondeh Ondeh

One Sweet Bite 7″ Giant Lemper with Ondeh Ondeh

Giant Udang Lemper with Ondeh Ondeh$78 for 7″. This is a giant piece of glutinous rice cake that sandwiches a savoury prawn filling (hae bi hiam) then topped with colourful balls of ondeh ondeh. The Udang lemper base has a rich, slightly spicy umami taste, while the ondeh ondeh on top, gives you bursts of gooey palm sugar. It is sweet, chewy, savoury all mixed in one bite. Oddly satisfying.
