Without a doubt, Dickson is one of Singapore’s top contenders for Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah. Imagine a delightful drumstick of crispy fried chicken paired with fragrant coconut rice, a perfectly fried egg, and their signature sambal chilli blend. For those who crave heat, don’t miss out on extra sambal—it’s a game-changer. Add as much extras as you can because that will decide whether you have a SUPER SHIOK or norm SHIOK meal.

While it leans towards the pricey side, the quality and harmony of flavours justify the indulgence. Consider it a sinful treat well worth savoring.

Jidelai’s chicken rice is is well-cooked, tasty and can be enjoyed on its own. I tried both the roasted and boiled chicken, the boiled chicken had little skin, but the meat was tender-er. The vegetables were cooked just as I liked it. Good portion sizes at an fair price, and the service is fast. Overall, it’s a decent chicken rice experience.

Pretty good place to try if you like the kampong chicken variant but it can be a dice roll and you can get a plate of bones lol. Good choice of other favourite local dishes like sambal kangkong ngoh hiang and the sorts.

Wee Nam Kee’s chicken is flavourful and easily falls off the bone, making it a delight to eat. The fragrant rice, which is subtly aromatic, perfectly complements the chicken and condiments, creating a harmonious taste. WNK also serves quite a few other dishes, the fish head curry and pork dishes are also verydelicious. All in all, a very authentic Hainanese chicken rice experience.

Katong chicken rice is on the saltier side, perfect for those who prefer stronger flavours. Also its a little garlicky, offering a strong garlic flavor. Both the chicken and rice are executed perfectly, and the chili sauce is nicely balanced, not too vinegary. The dark soy sauce is exceptional. Overall, good chicken rice with a twist different from others.

I tried the Five Star chicken rice and was pleasantly surprised by the kampong chicken. It was tender and refreshing, especially the thigh meat. The salted egg pork ribs were delicious, while the salted egg squid tasted more like regular calamari with a hint of salted egg. If you visit, I recommend the signature set with chicken thigh. Skip the prawns, which were over-fried and dry, and the handmade tofu, which tasted slightly sour. The braised pork belly was decent—tender pork skin but some tough parts. The salted egg pork ribs are worth a try.

I hadn’t been to Boon Tong Kee in a long time, but when I returned, I found the food, especially the chicken, still excellent. The long queue was worth the wait. This restaurant in Balestier impresses with both its atmosphere and its food, making it a great spot to take overseas friends or guests. Lots of other food options as well.

Two words. Fragrant and delicious. Each piece of chicken is coated with sesame oil and a special soy sauce, making it exceptionally tasty. The rice is nearly perfect, with each grain absorbing the rich chicken stock. This dish is a must-try at Tiong Bahru Market.

There is something about the rice. It is so flavorful you could enjoy it on its own. Chicken is tender and portions are generous for its price. Great chicken rice, great price. 5/5. Probably best chicken rice in Dover. 100% try their lemon chicken as well.
