Some of the best chicken rice I’ve had in Singapore! The chicken itself was incredibly tender and flavorful. Don’t forget to try their free double-boiled soups – the herbal option was a fragrant and comforting complement to the chicken rice. Overall, a fantastic meal at a reasonable price!

While the chicken rice at Katong Mei Wei is undeniably delicious (seriously, the roasted chicken is a revelation!), their other dishes deserve a shout-out too! We tried the achar – a tangy and refreshing pickled vegetable mix – a perfect appetizer to cleanse the palate. The double-boiled soups are another highlight – we had the lotus root and pork rib option, and it was incredibly flavorful and comforting. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with friendly service!

A Katong Chicken Rice Gem I Miss! As a former Singapore resident, one of the things I crave most is the delicious chicken rice from Katong Mei Wei. This hidden gem, tucked away in Katong Shopping Centre, is a favorite among locals in the East side.

While the chicken rice wasn’t mind-blowing, the free-flow achar was fantastic! The chunky vegetables were perfectly crisp and refreshing, a delightful counterpoint to everything else. The garlic chips on the chicken were a nice touch, adding a surprising burst of flavor. The soups were also impressive.

Katong chicken rice is on the saltier side, perfect for those who prefer stronger flavours. Also its a little garlicky, offering a strong garlic flavor. Both the chicken and rice are executed perfectly, and the chili sauce is nicely balanced, not too vinegary. The dark soy sauce is exceptional. Overall, good chicken rice with a twist different from others.

East side best side! Katong chicken rice is a must try if you’re around the area. Probably legendary status at the time of this writing.
