  • Tian Tian gets a lot of attention. But the truth is, their chicken rice lives up to the hype. It’s a delicious and authentic rendition of this beloved national dish.

  • Be prepared to queue at Tian Tian, but it moves quickly. The hype is real! The chicken rice is delicious – fluffy rice, flavorful chicken, and a trio of dipping sauces. A classic Singaporean dish done right in a vibrant hawker center setting.

  • Will only eat this if the queue are short.

  • Solid chicken rice! It might not be the absolute best, but it’s definitely delicious. The chicken is super tender and the flavor is on point. Just be prepared for a potential queue!

  • Great first taste of Hainanese chicken rice! The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the rice was fragrant with ginger and chicken broth. It’s a simple dish, but done really well. The price was reasonable, and the staff were friendly. Be prepared for a line, but it’s worth a try if you’re visiting Singapore!

  • Overhyped and Overpriced!!! Maybe I went on an off day, but Tian Tian didn’t live up to the hype. The chicken rice was decent, but not mind-blowing, and the price felt a bit high for a hawker stall. The hawker center can get crowded and noisy, making it a less than ideal dining experience.

  • Tian Tian’s chicken rice is good, but maybe a bit overhyped. The chicken was decent, but I’ve had better. The rice was fragrant, but a little oily for my taste. Still, a classic Singaporean dish and worth a try.

  • Let’s be real, Tian Tian gets a lot of hype. While the chicken rice is definitely above average (better than your typical hawker stall), I’d only wait in line for it if there wasn’t one (lucky me, no queue today!).

If you’re nearby and there’s no queue, sure, give Tian Tian a try. The chicken rice is good. But if there’s a line, don’t sweat it. There are plenty of other tasty (and maybe even cheaper) chicken rice options around Maxwell.

  • Legit most popular chicken rice in singapore for tourists. 2nd most popular would be that hawker chan soy sauce chicken at smith st. Good chicken rice but BTK still my fav. =)

  • This stall’s chicken rice proves that sometimes, the classics are classics for a reason. Yes, it’s just steamed chicken and rice, but the long queue (be prepared to wait 30 minutes!) tells you there’s something special about it. While it wasn’t mind-blowingly amazing, it delivered a solid and tasty chicken rice experience at a fair price. If you’re short on time, there might be faster options. But if you have some to spare, the wait is definitely worth a try for a taste of this local favorite.

  • Tian Tian is a well-known stall for a reason – their Hainanese chicken rice is flavorful and satisfying. The chicken is perfectly cooked, and the rice is fragrant and fluffy.

However, as a local, I have to mention the queue. It can get quite long, especially during peak hours.

Overall: If you’re a tourist or haven’t tried Tian Tian before, and you don’t mind the wait, it’s worth checking out. But for locals, there might be other Hainanese chicken rice options in the area with shorter lines.

  • The chicken itself was undeniably tender, and the rice had a pleasant fragrance. Overall, it was a good chicken rice experience. However, it didn’t quite live up to the level of hype I was expecting.

It’s worth noting that many tourists visit Tian Tian, which might contribute to its fame. It might be interesting to explore other local options alongside Tian Tian to see which style of chicken rice suits your preference best.

  • TianTian Chicken Rice is decent but not outstanding. The staff rushes customers I assume because of the crowd, so you can’t add extra sauces. The service is quite impersonal. At $6, the chicken rice feels overpriced; better deals are available elsewhere. The chicken rice is good ngl, but not different from Ai Hai’s two stalls down. The world recognition draws crowds to TianTian, but I prefer Ai Hai’s for the extra sauces and shorter wait.

  • Despite hearing great things about Tian Tian, I decided to brave the 15-minute queue. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Don’t get me wrong, the chicken rice wasn’t bad, but it didn’t live up to the hype. The chicken was tender and the rice fragrant, but it lacked flavor. The chili was also just average. Still I’d give it a 4*, just not worth jostling over.

  • Visited Tian Tian at Maxwell with my husband. After sampling both boiled and roasted chicken, my hubby and I preferred the tender boiled white chicken over the tougher roasted chicken. The savory sauce that drenched the chicken complemented the dish well, though on the salty side, it added an added dimension. The chicken rice was impeccably prepared. Despite consistent queues, the service was efficiently and quick, with seating near the shop filling up quickly but you’ll be able to find seat at the opposite side of Maxwell.

    I rate TianTian: Food 4/5, Service 4/5, Atmosphere 4/5.
    Recommended: Chicken Rice =)

  • TianTian chicken rice is touristy but still quality. Hard to go wrong with them. Maxwell is also a great place for a variety of local hawker fare!
