  • Established in 1976, still is a legendary name in Singapore’s bak kut teh scene. Their Havelock Road stall offers a taste of tradition with their time-tested recipe. Ho jiak!!

  • For many Singaporeans, Ya Hua is a go-to spot for bak kut teh. It’s a reliable choice for a delicious and authentic meal that won’t disappoint.

  • The broth has a natural peppery kick that’s perfect for me, but for those who crave an extra fiery adventure, they have a bowl of chili padi on the table.

  • Ya Hua is okay lah, for Bak Kut Teh. Consistent, sure, but the broth just seems a bit one-dimensional, like it needs more punch, you know? Ribs are decent size and cooked alright, but sometimes a tad dry, can be improved. Service is efficient, and the place is clean, which is always good at a hawker centre.

  • Don’t forget the accompaniments! Ya Hua offers you tiao perfect for soaking up the flavorful broth, alongside other side dishes like preserved vegetables!!

  • One of the 3 big names. Pepper version. Good soup good meat. Touristy. 4/5.

  • Skip the tourist traps and head to Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh for some of the best bak kut teh in Singapore! This place is a local favorite, and for good reason. The pork rib soup is simply delicious – bursting with flavor without being overwhelmed by white pepper. It’s a perfect balance that hits all the right notes.

We went beyond the soup and tried some of their other specialties too. The tau pok were perfectly soaked up the flavor of the broth, the pig intestines were cleaned and cooked to perfection, and the pig kidney added a delightful textural contrast.

  • Since they stay open late (11pm), Ya hua BKT has become one of our favourite supper spots after work. For me, it’s crucial that bak kut teh is served piping hot, and Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh nails it. The heat really brings out the balanced flavours of the Teochew-style peppery broth and the tender pork ribs. I like to pair my rice with salted vegetables and garlic that’s been simmering in the broth until it’s soft as butter. Crispy you cha kway is the perfect addition to soak up the broth. /end Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh review
