Lixin’s Noodles

The dry noodles at Lixin Teochew Fishball Noodles come with a default drizzle of tomato ketchup, which, surprisingly, I actually liked. It added a touch of sweetness and helped cut through the oiliness that can sometimes weigh down dry noodles. The ketchup balanced things out nicely, making the dish feel a bit lighter. If you’re not into it, you can skip the ketchup, but I thought it gave the noodles a pleasant sweetness and tang that worked well.

Lixin’s Fishballs, Fishcake & Dumplings

The star of the show at Lixin Teochew Fishball Noodles is definitely the fishballs and fishcakes. Made from pure yellowtail fish, they have that firm, bouncy texture that lets you know they’re the real deal—no fillers, no preservatives, just the good stuff. The fishballs are satisfyingly springy, and the fishcakes bring a subtle richness that rounds out each bite.

Even the fish dumplings stand out, with a delicate yellowtail skin wrapped around a fragrant pork filling.

And of course, you cannot miss the fried dumpings that provide that extra oomp and texture to the meal.

Lixin Teochew Fishball Noodles Review

If you’ve never had a good bowl of fishball noodles, Lixin is one to try. The handmade ingredients really makes the difference and you will taste it. Even their clear soup is tasty and gets a thumbs up from us. With 16 outlets across Singapore, it shouldn’t be hard to get your hands on a bowl. Go to their Kim Keat location if you’re a purist, because that will undoubtedly be the best. Serving size is rather small, so if you want to feel satisfied, you will need to upsize.

  1. Lixin is one of my favourites. Their TPY stall is legendary. Very balanced and not oily. Ketchup play tastes good too. Serving size is a little small so keep that in mind.
